This is my first year joining the Pet Blogging Challenge with this blog. Puppy in Training was kind enough to host this year's event and I'm so excited to introduce my new blog to the community.
So, welcome to Dog Mom Style.
1 – When did you begin your blog? And, for anyone stopping by for the first time, please give us a quick description of what your blog is about.
I started my blog in late 2019 as an outlet for my other interests. My main blog, Keep the Tail Wagging, is about raw feeding for dogs and wellness. But I love television, movies, books, clothing, and more. So I decided to start a new blog and I'm having a blast!
2 – Name one thing about your blog, or one blogging goal that you accomplished during 2019, that made you most proud.
I designed my blog myself. I pictured what I wanted and made it happen. It was such an amazing feeling to take on a huge task and complete it to my satisfaction.
I used a theme by Elementor called ColorMag.
3 – Which of your 2019 blog posts was your favorite and why? (Please include a link.)
My favorite was a blog post Mourning the Ending of a Friendship. Last year, I lost a friend and it broke my heart and I nearly gave up blogging.
4 – What was the biggest blogging challenge you faced in 2019, and how did you tackle it?
The biggest challenge was to determine if I wanted to change Keep the Tail Wagging to be a lifestyle blog or start a new blog. After a lot of research, I decided to start a second blog because Keep the Tail Wagging was already established as a blog about raw feeding and wellness for dogs. I didn't think my readers would appreciate a random post about ThirdLove bras and vampire movies.
5 – One goal that we all seem to share is we want to reach more people. What is your #1 tip for bringing more traffic to your blog?
For my new blog, I'm going to follow trends as well as write about what I love. I think this will allow me to enjoy this new blog of mine while attracting a new audience.
I also occasionally share posts from this blog over on Keep the Tail Wagging channels to provide a variety of content for my followers.
6 – Do you do sponsored posts/reviews? If so, what do you find works best and how do you determine what to charge for a blog post, social media shares, etc.? If not, is this something you’d like to do more of? What hurdle is getting in your way?
Not for Dog Mom Style. I want to keep this blog clear of sponsored posts and the reviews that I do will be on products that I purchase exclusively. I like the freedom of just writing for the joy of writing.
7 – Looking forward to 2020, if you accomplish only one thing through your blog, what do you hope it is?
My goal for 2020 is to gain 10,000 monthly pageviews before June. Crossing my fingers on this one. And I'd like to launch three more blogs by the end of the year.
8 – What steps are you planning to take to ensure you reach your goal?
For Dog Mom Style, I'll be focusing on SEO, trends, and social media marketing. Basically, I'll be working my fingers to the bone.
9 – The blogging landscape is constantly changing. What changes in blogging do you see coming in 2020 and beyond? What plans do you have to evolve?
I've noticed a number of people have multiple blogs and this is my goal for 2020. I want to end the year with at least three blogs, but I'd prefer to have five.
10 – If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one challenge you’re having with your blog, what would it be?
With how new this blog is, I don't have a question about blogging. But, for fun, I'd love to know…
“What's your favorite movie, TV program, and/or book?”
Thanks for stopping by!
