Welcome to Dog Mom Style! This is the Pet Blogger Challenge.

This is my first year joining the Pet Blogging Challenge with this blog. Puppy in Training was kind enough to host this year's event and I'm so excited to introduce my new blog to the community.

So, welcome to Dog Mom Style.

Pet Blogger Challenge - When did you begin your blog?

1 – When did you begin your blog? And, for anyone stopping by for the first time, please give us a quick description of what your blog is about.

I started my blog in late 2019 as an outlet for my other interests. My main blog, Keep the Tail Wagging, is about raw feeding for dogs and wellness. But I love television, movies, books, clothing, and more. So I decided to start a new blog and I'm having a blast!

Pet Blogger Challenge - Share an accomplishment that made you proud.

2 – Name one thing about your blog, or one blogging goal that you accomplished during 2019, that made you most proud.

I designed my blog myself. I pictured what I wanted and made it happen. It was such an amazing feeling to take on a huge task and complete it to my satisfaction.

I used a theme by Elementor called ColorMag.

Pet Blogger Challenge - What's your favorite blog post of 2019?

3 – Which of your 2019 blog posts was your favorite and why? (Please include a link.)

My favorite was a blog post Mourning the Ending of a Friendship. Last year, I lost a friend and it broke my heart and I nearly gave up blogging.

Pet Blogger Challenge - What was your biggest blogging challenge of 2019?

4 – What was the biggest blogging challenge you faced in 2019, and how did you tackle it?

The biggest challenge was to determine if I wanted to change Keep the Tail Wagging to be a lifestyle blog or start a new blog. After a lot of research, I decided to start a second blog because Keep the Tail Wagging was already established as a blog about raw feeding and wellness for dogs. I didn't think my readers would appreciate a random post about ThirdLove bras and vampire movies.

Pet Blogger Challenge - Share a tip on how to increase blog traffic.

5 – One goal that we all seem to share is we want to reach more people. What is your #1 tip for bringing more traffic to your blog?

For my new blog, I'm going to follow trends as well as write about what I love. I think this will allow me to enjoy this new blog of mine while attracting a new audience.

I also occasionally share posts from this blog over on Keep the Tail Wagging channels to provide a variety of content for my followers.

Pet Blogger Challenge - Let's talk about sponsored posts and product reviews.

6 – Do you do sponsored posts/reviews? If so, what do you find works best and how do you determine what to charge for a blog post, social media shares, etc.? If not, is this something you’d like to do more of? What hurdle is getting in your way?

Not for Dog Mom Style. I want to keep this blog clear of sponsored posts and the reviews that I do will be on products that I purchase exclusively. I like the freedom of just writing for the joy of writing.

Pet Blogger Challenge - What do you want to accomplish in 2020?

7 – Looking forward to 2020, if you accomplish only one thing through your blog, what do you hope it is?

My goal for 2020 is to gain 10,000 monthly pageviews before June. Crossing my fingers on this one. And I'd like to launch three more blogs by the end of the year.

Pet Blogger Challenge - How will you attain your 2020 goals?

8 – What steps are you planning to take to ensure you reach your goal?

For Dog Mom Style, I'll be focusing on SEO, trends, and social media marketing. Basically, I'll be working my fingers to the bone.

Pet Blogger Challenge - 2020 predictions for the blogging industry.

9 – The blogging landscape is constantly changing. What changes in blogging do you see coming in 2020 and beyond? What plans do you have to evolve?

I've noticed a number of people have multiple blogs and this is my goal for 2020. I want to end the year with at least three blogs, but I'd prefer to have five.

Pet Blogger Challenge - My question for other pet bloggers.

10 – If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one challenge you’re having with your blog, what would it be?

With how new this blog is, I don't have a question about blogging. But, for fun, I'd love to know…

“What's your favorite movie, TV program, and/or book?”

Thanks for stopping by!

wow – 5 blogs? I’m impressed – I’m in the process in setting up my second one in a completely different niche. I don’t know how I’ll keep up with two let alone 5. (and two offline businesses)

    Hi Kimberly,

You made me snort! I never thought I’d see the words ThirdLove bras and vampire movies in the same sentence. LOL! I’m a total weirdo, so I pictured a vampire in a ThirdLove bra raw feeding her dog. Oh what kind of dog, you naturally ask? A bloodhound;)

Favorite movie: The Empire Strikes Back
Favorite books: The Handmaid’s Tale and Pride & Prejudice
TV shows come and go so quickly…I don’t know that I’ve got a favorite.

Looking forward to your posts in 2020! I’m a dog mom and I used to care more about style. I’ve focused more on function than style in recent years, so some inspiration would be a good thing for me. Cheers! Irene

Congratulations on launching your second blog! I have been reading some of your posts and they are really good.
I’m a sci-fi nerd so I’m enjoying the Picard series right now. I love anything Star Trek and Star Wars along with most other science fiction movies, tv series, etc.

Hey Kimberly, how cool to read about your new blog! Here’s to much success with it!

My favorite movies are action movies ranging from the James Bond series to Bad Boys and Die Hard. I enjoy politically inspired TV shows like “House of Cards” and “Homeland”, but also loved the latest show on Apple TV, “The Morning Show”. As far as books are concerned, I like biographies and fiction.

Hi again! I’ve thought about starting a second blog mostly so I have a place to write about things other than dogs, haha. Not necessarily to make money or even get traffic. But … I’m interested in your ideas to have multiple blogs. What will your other sites be about?

Congratulations on launching another blog! I read your post on mourning the end of a friendship. I’m the worst at holding grudges. I do want to just let them go, but I think it’s time to accept it’s just one of my flaws.

Managing to get three blogs to 10,000 pageviews is a tough one, but if anyone can do it you can. I still marvel at the amount of work you do while working a full time job.

As for favorites I’m going to go with more recent favorites

    1. Movie – Avengers Endgame was pretty awesome
    2. TV Program – On Netflix I’m currently watching The Witcher
    3. I haven’t read fiction books in a long time. Does The Puppy Primer count for my book?

Thanks for including your second blog in the PBJ. Best of luck hitting those 10K pageviews this year!
